Physiotherapy

Our community physiotherapy service is an adult musculo-skeletal service based at The White Rose Surgery and Rycroft Medical Centre; the service aims to help restore movement and function following illness or injury. Your treatment plan may include manual therapy, exercise or advice. 

Waiting times

Referral to first assessment within 3-6 weeks.

About the service

Your first appointment will approximately be 20-40 minutes. You will be asked a series of questions about the problem area. You will then have a physical examination to assess the affected area. 

The physiotherapist will then discuss with you an appropriate treatment plan which will include one or more of the following:
Exercises

  • Manual therapy
  • Postural advice
  • Self-management advice

It is important that you wear appropriate loose clothing such as a T-shirt, if it’s a problem area of your shoulder/elbow etc. If the problem area is your knee/leg then wearing shorts or loose jogging bottoms would be advisable. 

Your follow up appointments will be made by the receptionist. Follow-up appointments usually take between 15 to 20 minutes.

Service eligibility

We accept all referrals from GPs.

On the day of the appointment

On arrival you will be checked in by our reception staff then seen by the physiotherapist.
